12 point flanged aircraft style nut with special anti-friction
coating. These provide accurate torque on stud and superior clamp
force compared to hex or uncoated nuts. All Diesel Central fasteners feature a guaranteed minimum tensile strength of 230,000 PSI and military spec rolled fine threads after heat-treat to eliminate head gasket leaks. "Imitation" studs use coarse threads and low grade steel which results in lower clamp force higher friction and "torque scatter." Each Diesel Central fastener receives a special Aerospace Spec anti-corrosion coating that is more appropriate for the application.
